LaLohan as Monroe? No. No. No.

Ok- I have to write and see what you gals think about LaLohan's most recent publicity stunt post-rehab: her nude photoshoot for New York Magazine re-creating the infamous last portraits of Marilyn Monroe by famed photographer Bert Stern. While I certainly have nothing against tasteful nude photography, I'm just not sure how much I'm loving this shoot. The original photos of MM were extraordinarily amazing; one of her best in my opinion (which is difficult to say given what a beauty Marilyn was in front of the camera lens) and thus that I'm not sure they should be recreated. Nonetheless by Lindsay Lohan. I'm just not buying the photos (also photographed by Bert Stern) as beautiful, original art but more as a simple, even tacky, imitation. You judge.

Doesn't fit

The shoot doesn't fit her (at least publicly displayed) personality.
I would more see her in biker leather, bikinis, candy striper get up, something that poked fun at her life thus far, but she went and tried to be someone she's not.
Seems like someone convinced here there were enough parallels in her and MM's lives that this would 'really really speak to people' .
pff.
Agree with other poster - if I were her publicist I never would have let this happen. She's not ready to expose herself literally or figuratively speaking just out of rehab.

Eh

I'm a closet LL fan, (except she pretty much lost me after her issues post-Mean Girls) so I bought the mag just b/c she was on the cover. I can't really say she disappointed me b/c I'm not a big Monroe fan to begin with. But I think LaLohan took the wrong route of staying significant post-rehab by going nude. Why not become a philanthropist or something? I'm hoping she'll get her together before she turns to another Brit.

Why?!

What was the point other than keeping LiLo in the press. Very sad...

hated it!

Aside from a couple of shots ~ I really didn't like these photos of LL. Her breasts don't compare to Marilyn's ~ AT ALL. The photos of Marilyn were SO gorgeous and haunting in the sense that this was her last shoot.
LL is just playing copycat or was bored, I don't know what her deal is, but I think she should have left these photos alone. I agree that Scarlet Johannson would be a better choice in 10 years.

ewwwww

I don't think this was necessary at all! I think they could've picked a better candidate for the reviving of Marilyn Monroe's most famous pitcure.

I...

really don't have a problem with the pictures. I find it odd the Ben Stern would do the shoot and try and remake something so classic as Monroe's Last Shoot, somethings shouldn't be remade, maybe if he just took the last shoot as inspiration ( not literally) people would have taken it better. Another thing is Lindsay Lohan has yet to achieve what Marylin Monroe did in her short life. Linday is from a diffrent time, were unfourtunately girls like her are a dime a dozen...Miss Monroe on the other hand was an Icon in her own time and is now a Legend. Maybe if this shoot was to happen 10 years in the future after Lohan had proven herself in the industry more, it wouldn't get this type of backlash.

Her Tits

Moi, au contraire, I have to admit that I always had a big girlcrush on Lohan... in her worse and best times. She usually looks fabulous in photoshoots but this time, with all the expectations that go with the Marilyn name, I am sooooooo disappointed. I really don't like her tits compared to Monroe's - and apart from the tits, she's not curvy enough to play the role. The whole shoot is very blend and I don't think they give the young starlet the justice she deserves... If I was her agent/publicist, I would not have let that happen... I wonder if America's turned on by this.

Not loving it

If LL is such an icon why isn't she creating her own original shoot? Bright side: at least she's not singing a sexed-up Happy Birthday to the President.

Yuck

I have no need/desire to get this upclose and personal with LiLo. This girl cannot stand to be out of the new for more than 5 minutes. She's finally sober, out of rehab, not on Page 6 and what does she do??

... take naked "art" pics...

Hopefully this does not start a trickle of other celebutards baring it all...
