it's in the stars....

some weeks, no matter how hard i try, i can't figure out WHAT is going on...  everything seems weird = work, clients, my printer.

(ok, my printer is reliably weird.)

nothing like jonathan cainer, one of england's top astrologers, to make sense of things... wittily & succinctly.  (www.cainer.com) and lucky for us in the USA, the daily stars are posted Brit-time (so we get to learn ahead of time if things will still be weird tomorrow!)

knockin' crocs

i recently read that these things have been dubbed hazardous --- (getting caught in escalators, which is, indeed, hazardous)...

now i am hoping that people will stop wearing them altogether.

i KNOW they're comfortable, yeah yeah yeah,.... but unless you're a nurse, or a chef or age 4, please let this fad end soon!

overcoming jet lag... or, how to not look ragged upon arrival.

how is it that this woman can get off a plane straight from a refugee camp and look like THIS??

(now, i'm assuming most of us don't have a makeup artist and hair stylist on stand-by)

any tips or tricks on how you ladies manage to look fabulous & fool the effects of jet lag after a change in time zone???

in lieu of Italia

both the measly state of the dollar and commonsense are preventing me from booking a ticket to Italy right now...  but i must confess to daydreaming about bugging off for a few weeks to some Mediterranean destination.

but, i think i've located the next-best-thing just an hour away:  the Kenwood Inn & Spa.

simply gorgeous grounds, the friendliest staff, and out of this world landscaping make a few hours & pinot grigio(s) poolside here feel like lifetimes - and timezones - away from the real world.   for a totally worthwhile extra "day fee", they allow spa guests to hang awhile post-treatment.  pure bliss.

beautiful baubles

coming from a long line of jewelry fanatics (and countless hand-me-down pieces), i'm a pickypicky shopper when it comes to baubles....

i've fallen in love however with a unique & lovely line - Frolick  - designed here by the likewise unique & lovely creator, Adrienne Lee... now Bay Area-based by way of Atlanta.

drawing inspiration in form & spirit from butterflies, her pieces range from whimsical and edgy to delicate and charming....

whhhhaaaa?

monica bellucci is surely one of the most beautiful human beings on the planet.  clive owen's not so bad either.  paul giamatti??  brilliant.

so now that they've all wound up in a film together, you'd think i'd be dying to see it.  instead, i can't make sense of it whatsoever....

"Shoot 'Em Up" --- WHAT IS UP WITH THIS MOVIE???

 ...anyone have a clue??

move over Bumble & Bumble....

...there's a new brand in my bath now.

how excited was i discover my stylist whiz edward was among the first to score Shu Uemura's new, ultra-fly hair care line, Art of Hair.

no, the website's not launched yet.  nope, the Fillmore Street store doesn't have it yet.  but somehow edward managed to get it.... magic.

now that i've been conditioned to spending a small fortune on shampoo (damn you Kerastase!), i only had a mild stroke on the price range ($40 and up).  the packaging, like most of Shu's line, is sleek, modern and striking...

i picked up the Moisture Velvet nourishing products for dry hair, and my locks are lovin' it.
