The line is currently only earrings, but is expanding soon. They are also hosting a launch party this Friday, if you want more info please let me know. Project Runway Rewind: A Designer AffairI love a wrap dress just as much as the next girl, but I have never seen a guest judge/challenge frazzled the designers as much as DVF did. I t made for great reality tv, and some fantastic as well as fug designs.
Kenley- It’s no secret she is not my favorite , but when the theme of the challenge was the 30’s I just knew she was going to win, and was disappointed when she just made a dress and thought the mandarin collar dress was so expected, and kind of boring. It was well made though
Joe- The mandarin collar strikes again, but uglier! Something about the fabric of that shirt was so bad; I’m just amazed that on designer can make DVF fabrics look horribly cheap. And the hood was a terrible edition and the execution was horrific! Cheap Ninja that’s all I could think.
Leanne- See you at Bryant Park. That dress was fabulous, simple and elegant. It’s not much I can say about here she’s a wonderful designer and I would wear everything she makes. The jacket was just okay, and I’m glad she shortened it to fit more with DVF’s look book
Terri- The other designers ca sway what they will but, those pants were the shi* and very 30’s diva. The jacket was even very nice I would wear that too. I’m also loving the fact that she has a little attitude, I know we all watch for design but hell who doesn’t love entertainment.
Jerrell- His look was a little off I think everything was just a little too short, but nothing bad enough for him to go home though….I’m still exited to see more from him. It reminded me of a stewardess, and that belt was ugly.
Korto- I don’t care what the judges say I think the dress was fantastic, and wasn’t that big of a fan of the jacket. I think her dress screamed classic DVF more than anyone else’s.
Blayne – Actually really loved his look and how he did the blouson pant and his jacket (hated the toggle buttons on the jacket though). He’s turning out to be a keeper.
Suede- HATED IT! It was too much print, I couldn’t even really see the design of the dress or what the judges critic because all that print was blinding. Ugh just ugh!
Stella- Poor tailoring yes, but the concept of vest, pant, and cape was awesome, and I though her vision was on point for the challenge.
Now to my concern with the judging this week and how it was B.S.! The person who went home didn’t have the worst outfit of the pack she had executions issue, whereas Joe’s look was ugly and poorly executed I mean the back of his was almost as bad as the back of Keith’s last week and he didn’t get Auf’d ….Booooooooooo Hiss the judging this week!
Project Runway Rewind: Driving Miss CrazyThank you Project Runway for once again becoming the show I love. This was the second week that the challenge was awesome. And I agree with the judges, the designers really stepped it up even the ones that were in the bottom.
Korto- That jacket/dress was the BOMB, she stuck to her aesthetic but and wasn’t over the top innovative yet she continues on her movement to make classic and yes that seatbelt jacket was even wearable
Blayne- Although the top of his dress was ill fitting he was the only designer of the 3 who choose to step out side their aesthetic that did well. I liked his idea, and I though the glass was a nice touch.
Terri- Was this invasion of the body snatcher and Stella go into her body? The leather pants and biker chick look was well done, and a little surprising.
Kenley- I really don’t’ like her, but her outfit was “chic” and the magic marker zebra print genius. This was her best work by far.
Stella- She’s one of my favorite, but on this challenge she should have stayed in her comfort zone. This was her worst look by far the shiny ill fitting ace bandage skirt was wack.
Jerrell- This guy is the dark horse he pulls out looks that either have him in the top three or at least moving on the to next round. I felt his was the best that is until I saw Leanne’s. Reversing the seating to show the suede part and using the plastic pieces that now one else used well done.
Joe- It was just ehhh for me…it made me think of Max Max and for this challenge I guess that was okay.
Suede- His outfit reminded me of something that should have been done for the drag challenge and the fringe at the bottom made me think of something Keith would do, but the fact he used rubber and no one else did saved him.
Keith- Snotty Brat much? Temper tantrums and a poorly executed not to mention fug outfit equals Buh Bye in my book. What was up with the back there is no way he should have sent that down the runway!
Leanne - This girl is a winner! What she did with the seat belts put everyone else to shame, she worked the materials and kept her aesthetic…LOVE HER! I think this may be the first runway dress I actually bid on. Can't Wait to Watch: Quid Pro QuoI watch a lot of movies but I typically don't wait outside my mailbox for my next film to arrive. Before I started watching "The Life Before her Eyes" last weekend I saw an interesting preview for the movie Quid Pro Quo and it has me a little giddy and I can't wait to get to my mail box to get this one............
"While chasing an anonymous tip, wheelchair-bound radio reporter Isaac Knott (Nick Stahl) discovers a strange subculture of "wannabe amputees" -- non-disabled people who long to be disabled. Beautiful museum curator Fiona (Vera Farmiga) is the group's poster girl -- and Isaac's love interest. The noir-ish New York drama, reminiscent of David Cronenberg's Crash, marks the feature debut of writer-director Carlos Brooks."
Sound interesting right?
English OnlyThe topic of English only in the U.S.A. has always been a hot topic in politics and almost every other facet of American life. The topic re-sparked my interest when I saw this article regarding the LPGA(which seems to be about money and poor ratings) which is now moving towards requiring players to learn English. This issue comes up frequently in my work, there are people who I work with at my job that have some language barriers when it comes to English, however I work in a highly regulated business, and all the document are written in English therefore it is crucial for you comprehension, reading, and spoken skills to be up to par which is not the case in my department. I have to be completely honest, I have totally mixed feelings on the subject due to the fact that some of my friends and their families cannot claim English as their first language, but at the same time why don’t other Nations around the world not have a problem of having a National language? 9021-Oh WellOkay I know I’m about to commit a mortal sin in some TV fans eyes….but here goes. Am I the only person in the blogosphere that isn’t totally excited to see Beverly Hills 90210 back on tv? Please don’t stone me to death, but I’m really over it partly because I was only an occasional fan of the orginal ( never could totally relate). My other issue is I already watch Gossip Girl, The Hills, and I’m kind of over primetime being rule by the early twenties, and early teen dramas. I do commend them for actually having an “ethnic” character in the cast this time but other than that I can live without the show. I’m holding out for new and more mature programming this fall like returning show like Lost, Life, Prison Break, House, CSI Miami, and new shows like Fringe.
P.S. I do hope they keep the orginal theme song, because that was the bomb! Project Runway Rewind: DragalicousLet me just start by this I think was one of the best challenges ever!
Suede- Bless his sensitive heart he had Dr. Jykll and Mrs. Drag as a client, and he still did a good job. Although his outfit looked a lot like Hedda Lettuce’s orginal outfir just in a different material.
Blayne- “Pterodactyl out of a gay Jurassic park” Tim says I say wasn’t that the point of this challenge. I mean Miss understood came out in neon colored sequined jumper with eyes on it, and Blayne’s outfit was over the top? Blayne and Miss Understood was a perfect match for this challenge.
Joe- Talk about a fish out of water, and he still managed to make the best outfit, and his client loved it. I’m glad to see him coming out of his shell a little
Keith- Okay I’ve liked his past looks, but seriously if he fringes one more think I’m going to start thinking that’s all he can do. Rami Much?
Daniel- BUH BYE. He should have been gone two challenges ago. LOL @ him thinking his look was dramatic
Terri - Great job on honing in on her clients style yet making it her own. Diana Ross meets Gene Simmons ….love it!
Jerrell- This is the only place where I think the judges were too harsh. His client wasn’t at all flamboyant so to be so critical of it being blah was kind of pointless. He did a good job of “draggin” his dress out.
Kenley- She finally gets a change to put some of those ugly fabrics she been picking out to work and she does silver sequins and feathers, so drag elementary. It was well put together though with the exception of that horrid visable zipper.
Stella- I thought her outfit was ugly, and didn’t fit her client’s persona. I just didn’t get it.
Korto- I could see Chris March stealing her dress and working it out. For being so lost in the workroom she managed to do a great job. The flame shoulder piece was fierce.
Leanne- A great blend of her style and her clients. She is becoming one of my favorites. Cosmetics Class Action LawsuitSo how do you feel about the cosmetics class action lawsuit that has been going on what seems like secretly for some years now? I can’t lie I have always wondered even when almost everything is on sale in Macy’s or Nordstrom why the makeup is always full price. In the past I never questioned it enough not to buy makeup, but now that I see this lawsuit, have we been getting cheated all these years |
