Turbans?

So I'm hearing Turbans are the "it" fashion accessory. My question is  WHY? I have not seen any uglier fashion trend in all my 30 years. The turban reminds me of someones grandmother or a costume that Andre 3000 would wear. Unless you are wearing it for a religous reason, turbans aren't stylish.
