Race Day!

Well tomorrows the big day! The Iron Horse Bicycle Classic. The 50 mile uphill battle through the mountains of Colorado . The race kicks off at 8:15.  It's the first year my whole family has managed to be in town at the same time for the race. So we are all in it, and I am pretty darn stoked.

All I am praying for is....

1. that it doesn't snow like this past wednesday,

2. And that I do not flat out in the middle of the race.

If those prayers are answered, I will be flippin' fantastic!

Don't get me SICK!

I am back in good ol' Durango. I should be embracing the fam, by I  am  in solitude praying that I do not get sick.

I have been welcomed by a home of virused family members! It's a stomach virus and they got it bad.  So I sit away from the infected, hoping that I am lucky enough to pass this one by.

Awkward Moments of the Moment

Awkward Moment #1
Totally thinking my flight home was today only to find while waiting curbside for a cab my flight is really tomorrow.
(Probably more stupid than awkward but I thought I'd throw it in.)

Awkard Moment #2
Leaving a trail of panties behind me as I tried to walk up the stairs with a batch of clean laundry.
And quickly to find my Apt. manager behind me picking up my thongy odds and ends.
Well they were clean!!!

Awkard Moment #3
Having to be taken aside in kickboxing class, cause I couldn't get the moves down.
He told me I was quick but I was doing the wrong kick!!

Couldn't get out of Bed!!!

Last night I was swamped with final project stuff. At 3:00 in the morning I still sat at my sewing machine trying to figure out how to sew the pleats in my skirt. After a lot of frustration due to crooked stitching I decided to call it a night.

And this morning, I COULD NOT get out of bed. Literally, I could not get out of the bed. Somehow when I crawled beneath my duve last night, I manage to entangle the scraps and threads I had accumulated from sewing with my bed covers. It was not a pretty site.

I struggled for a while, twisting and squirming to get out of this threaded jungle. And then out of physical and mental exhaustion I hopped on over to my desk, grabbed them shears and cut myself free. It was either that or wear my sheets to work. I guess it would have been warm.

Anyways, I warn any sewers out there. BEWARE of scraps and threads, they are more dangerous than they seem. They might getcha.

Heat Wave!

So, San Francisco got hit by a heat wave, and I cannot stop sweating. Last night I don't think I got a minute of sleep, due to the fact that my studio became a sauna by the end of the day.

But......... I can not complain. It is just BEAUTIFUL outside!! And now I just might get a chance to sneak away from finals and get a nice tan on my white bootie! It also means Sundresses, sandals, and a chance to strap on my favorite thing of summer, A big ol' straw hat.

My favorite dresses, sandals, and hats of the moment are:

1. Samantha Treacy 'Sweeney' Print at Nordstrom
2. Serpiente Thongs from Anthropolgie
3. Startlet Hat, It's not straw, but I still like it!

The Pigeon Took a Load Off!!

Ha I have got a good one for this!

I was 10 when I ventured over to New York with my Grandma and Mom. We started in Washington where our choir sang for Hilary Clinton in the Washington Cathedral. Good ol' Bill was supposed to come, but hey thats another story.

Anyways after the performance we headed to New York to watch shows and do some SERIOUS shopping. The first night when we went to go to see the Lion King, I got really decked out. I chose to wear a huge Black satin Gown. When I put the thing on, I multiplied 3x in size!

Anyways, it wasn't about two blocks when we started walking to the show when I felt a nice little plop upon my shoulder. I turned to look and to my disgust.............

I HAD PIGEON POOP ALL OVER ME!! Naturally I freaked out, (I sorta was a brat at the time.) My Mom and Grandma attempted (to say the least) to clean it up, but they just couldn't stop laughing as I stood their in tears with pigeoan poop sitting on my shoulder.

Of course, I got over it when we went to Betsey Johnson to find a new dress, but I was still tormented by the load the pigeon left upon me!

Stress Solutions

It's finals week. YUCK!!!
I'm always wondered about the point of finals.
Stressing a bunch of kids and teachers out. Who thought of that one?
Anyways here is what I am going to try to do to keep the stress on the low end of the stress meter. Perhaps these can also help any body else whose feeling a little edgy.
1. Scrounge up some money for a massage this week.
2. Get to bed on time
3. Wake up on time
4. Remeber to smile, cause there's worse things in life than tests.
5. Laugh with some freinds
6. Most importantly get a new outfit. Who knows looking good in the classroom might help me pull of an A!
Whoever is stressing out there or if there even is anyone else stressing out there, I wish you the best. Stress is overated. Let's just stop!
This is a great something that might make you laugh too!!!

What a "Do!"

Man I remember it so vividly to this day. It was my sisters 8th grade graduation. We all went to get our hair done. Don't ask me why we treated 8th grade grad like it was the event of the year, but hey I guess it was a good reason to get a little pampered. Anyways while my mom was getting blown out and my sister getting rollers, I was concocting the most oddly, artistic "do" with my stylist. I wanted to be BOLD and boy was I going to be.

Two hours after my sister and mom left with there polished and primped looks, I came out of the salon looking as though I was an electricuted Pippy Long Stocking!!! I had braids sticking out in every which way. Some were up, some were down, and some were sideways.  They were in ways that I didn't even think were possible!

But........
I LOVED IT.
and I was ready to slip on my very conservative Perry Ellis dress and head to church to celebrate my sisters rights of passage.
When my mom and sister came to pick me up. They gave the "oohhh that's nice," response. I don't think it is what they had pictured. But I really didn't care. I was a 10 year old chick with a rocking hair-do that was ready to celebrate!

Underwear Agenda

What's on the agenda for tonight?...... UNDERWEAR SHOPPING!!! and I have to admit I am pretty stoked, I am in need.

I am pretty simple when it comes to underwear. I am not into the padded wired bras, or the fancy lacy stuff. I am all about comfort. I am a Calvin Klein girl in my lingerie department. They've got simple and soft stuff that strikes my fancy.

For a girl with a negative sized chest, their simple no wire, no hooks,  seamless bras do the job perfectly for me.  They are  called the "Balance" shaper bra. They are great because you can wear them work and then to the gym after. And the bonus of that?

LESS LAUNDRY!!

Anyways if your into function and comfort give these puppies a shot.

Polka Dots are Calling Me

Yesterday, I couldn't resist a bit of shopping after a long day of class. So I took a stroll around downtown SF and somehow ended up in J Crew, trying on some really great hats. I had to get one.

I ended up with this yellow polka dot one. It's pretty darn cute. I thought it might go well  the new Tommy Polka Dot swimsuit I indulged in last week.

What can I say, I am one who cannot resist a polka dot!
