Whether its because you are on the go,

too tired, or just L-A-Z-Y,sometimes washing your face just seems like
too much of a hassle. But you know that washing off makeup and daily 
build-up is a MUST in any good skincare regimen.

Myth; Does semen really firm the skin?

Fact: I know we have all had men in our lives try to convince us that their semen is a great antioxidant. Oh, and that it possesses some ancient anti aging properties. hahaha

Well... It doesn't! Semen contains protein, which can have a tightening effect on the skin by temporarily stretching out our fine wrinkles. As water evaporates, the protein remains on the skin, and has a sort of tightening effect. However, when rinsed and I advise you to rinse well, the skin goes back to normal. Oh, and by the way egg-whites have the same effect. I don't want egg-whites on my face either. Nice try guys!

The Myth: Does too much sex cause acne?

The Fact:

Whew...... Sex is definateley good for the skin. Why? I think Cold Play said it best "A Rush of Blood to theHead" All that activity is stimulating circulation and carting away the bad bacteria that was building up in the follicle. That's what's giving your skin that glow .

I would have to give a big thumbs up for this excercise!

Breathe in Breathe out

Ok, enough about facial products and facials that promise to push oxygen into your skin cells. Biology 101: Oxygen is supplied to (skin) tissue in the hemoglobin, which is in red blood cells.
You can also get oxygen from breathing; however, you can NOT get oxygen from putting products on your skin! Period. So, the next time someone tries to sell you a cream or a treatment that has a fancy machine,” that will deliver oxygen straight to your skin", promising you that it "really will make you younger”,

Tell them it’s a lot of hot air …….

Oil Blotting Papers

Have you ever noticed around 12PM that your skin looks like it has a giant oil slick across the surface? You reach for those oil blotting papers that your trusty girlfriend recommended, hoping they will do the trick. But, you find yourself asking, why is my skin suddenly breaking out? Here is where I come in. Please, don’t use oil absorbing blotting sheets, thinking they will sop up the grease. They won’t work! Why? Because, you can’t fight oil with more oil. One of the main ingredients in these papers is mineral oil. Oh, and for those of you who don’t know, mineral oil is bad, bad, bad for your skin!

Does Tanning Clear up Acne?

Pimples are not like Shrinky Dinks; they don't shrivel when baked. Back in the day, Dermatologist used to recommend ultraviolet light to treat acne. But, the long term consequences are so negative, they aren’t advising it as a treatment anymore. It accelerates aging! , and why would we want to do that?

So, remember class, if you think a day by the pool makes your skin look great, just know that when that tan fades and your rebound acne starts up again. You have only the Sun to be angry at!

Score card for the Motor City

So happy to be back from our Motor City madness! Our visit to Detroit was pretty boring. We were so bored we started playing a counting game: Hummers vs. Hybrids. We were shocked to see so many Hummers, and being in the car capital of the US we couldn’t believe when we heard about the 25K dollar tax credit for small businesses that purchase large vehicles like Hummers. We only got a credit of $3,500 for buying a new Toyota Prius. The final score for Detroit was 96 Hummers to 5 Hybrids. Looks like the motor city didn’t see Al Gore’s documentary …….

When we got home we decided to play the same game on the drive from the Oakland airport back to El Cerrito. In just that short trip the score was Hybrids 47, Hummers 2.

The Humvee was originally designed for military use, but the total number of Hummers we saw in both cities that were actually involved in combat operations was zero. However, if we need to fight a sudden invasion from Canada, it’s clear that our friends in Detroit will have a big advantage….

I Love 80's Music

Last night me and the Schmoop faught the traffic down to Oaktown to see The Police. Sting was still hot playing a very late 50's vintage Fender P bass. Top song for the night was"Walking on the Moon", and I couldn't believe how hard they jammed, they did 3 encores. Ripping out one hit after the other, top five in the category of concerts this year.

So, I started my day out with a bad police expierience, but ended it with the best!

OK, I am so pissed off right now!!!!!!!!

After a pleasant visit at Splendora headquarters, I found myself driving down 5th St. Not, a very good route, especially because I was stopped by a Cop. I really thought I could bat my big blue eyes at him, and he would go away. NOT! He gave me a God Damn Ticket!

And for what? My car was stolen in January and there has been nothing but trouble, to come from it. Of course the thieves also stole my vehicle registration, and my proof of insurance. This made the cop very angry. I of course, had to be irritating too! I think my last sentence to him was “So, here we are on 5th St. And I am the one you choose to stop, must be a light day of crime for San Francisco"

He handed me the ticket, and proceeded to stop the very next person who drove by. The injustice!

Zitectomy: To pick or NOT to pick
I always say not to pick, and here is why.

1. Picking leads to scarring. If you think you can successfully pop that pimple without any consequences, your'e kidding yourself! You are going to wake up and scream, because it is always worse than if you had left it alone. Plus, it spreads bacteria. Yuck!

2. Ice it, bacteria hates the cold and and so do I. But, the swelling will go down in no time! Don't make the mistake of putting heat on it. Bacteria loves dark damp places, and your zits will multiply.

3. No over the counter zit products. The dryer you make your skin, the more oil your skin will produce. Then the whole zit conundrum comes back to haunt you, and you'll again be faced with the question "Should I or shouldn't I pop this crazy disgusting zit?"

I say, leave it for a professional like me with an unhealthy obsession with zits.
