get ready for purple haze and purple days for fall... been checking out look books from robert rodriguez, madison marcus, mcginn and others, and the infusion will begin! don't worry -- you'll not look like barney...  the hues range from light lilac on black dresses to full on eggplant tops and bottoms. i've always been a purple freak and can't wait to get my hands on more goodies. first up is the carla danelli purse i talked about in 'what to handbag'...

trend report: layering is here. mix it up with plaids and flowers (my fav) or be a little more conservative and do solid colors. it's all up to you and based on your courage! i love layering pieces from free people -- i can walk in the stanford store or into urbanization in san carlos and walk out with the craziest mix-and-match pieces that look absolutely stunning together. in fact, here's a photo of me in an outfit i created... enjoy the new chic and don't fear the clash! here's a photo of me in a layered look....

i walked by lulu boutique in san mateo, ca today and was amazed at the design forward window display -- vintage vogue and votre beaute pages and vintage dresses mixing perfectly with new DvF and sanctuary. what a great concept -- cash in on the eco-friendly craze while attracting customers. i asked owner jamie sears and she said the window display has sold 5 vintage dresses since it's been up for a week, and brought in more traffic than she ever imagined. "i live vintage, as you can see. i had to show it off as best i could this month,' she said.
