San Francisco's SOMA has been in dire need of a posh place like Polished Lounge. When the team at Splendora HQ got the word that there was a new nail lounge in the area we literally clapped in need of attention hands and nails in delight. Located near South Park, the ultra-tidy salon is a little off the beaten track, but it is certainly worth discovering. The warm staff offers tea and fresh fruit, and the country-chic setting is adorned with cuddle-worthy floral arm-chairs and ottomans that are used in lieu of typical mani/pedi thrones. There are wall hooks next to each station to hang your belongings and there are even canvas sacs matching the chairs to house your street shoes. The warm buckwheat shoulder wrap they place on your shoulders while you receive a Tips & Toes Soft treatment or a simple buffing manicure is divine. Polished Lounge is so relaxing (and their nail techs are so awesome) that their warm lotion massages leave us feeling delightfully sleepy. When the worker bees leave SOMA for the weekend the 'hood gets relatively quiet, a major plus because that means easy parking and a hassle-free, mellow experience. We promise- you'll never witness any unnerving chatter or arguments over who gets to use the Mademoiselle first.
